The topmost figure is St. Cecilia, patroness of music, flanked by two angels;

lower are the figures of King David, the Psalmist,

and Pope Gregory, the father of
church music.
A Latin inscription, "Te Deum Laudamus, Te Dominum Confitemur,"("We praise Thee, 0 God, We Acknowledge Thee to be the Lord") decorates the arch above the organ.
Under the great murals of the nave's vaulted ceiling on the side walls between the clerestory windows are paintings showing ten of the twelve Apostles. Missing is St. Peter who is painted on the ceiling panel in the balcony directly over the side altar. Opposite this place and corresponding in position, is a painting of St. Paul. Judas, of course, is omitted.
