| The Life of Saint Louis IX, King of
France Through the Stained Glass Windows of Saint Louis Cathedral |
Introduction
Stained-glass windows in our churches are sources of great joy to us with their rhythms of light and color. They lift our minds and hearts to God, the saints, and the truths of our faith. Since the 12th and 13th centuries, stained-glass windows have been the pictorial catechisms of the faithful. They began, as ways of portraying Bible stories and the lives of the Saints. Some of the main events in the life of Saint Louis IX, our patron saint, are depicted in ten, beautiful, stained-glass windows in our Cathedral. |
