Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

“The desire for God is written in the human heart, because man is created by God and for God.”
- Catechism of the Catholic Church (27).

What is RCIA?

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is an opportunity for those who have an interest in the Catholic faith to come and discover the truths and teachings of the Church. Through the RCIA program, participants are given a period of time to study, pray and reflect on the teachings of the Catholic Church. Through this journey each participant makes a commitment one step at a time leading up to the Easter Vigil where the Sacraments of Initiation are received. This ancient Rite has been passed on from the early Church when the first Christians were received into the faith.

The RCIA program is for persons in need of baptism, persons baptized in another Christian faith but interested in becoming Roman Catholic, and persons baptized Catholic in need of First Communion and/or Confirmation.
